• Requirements
  • 1. The full name, address and nationality of the applicant
    2. The full name, address and nationality of the creator
    3. One or more drawings or photographs of the article of design
    4. An explanation of the design, including an indication of the material or materials used to produce the article, objective(s) of the design, use(s) of the article, and any novel elements
    5. An executed Power of Attorney, signed by the applicant or the representative of the applicant company, which may be a General Power of Attorney on file with the Korean Intellectual Property Office
    6. A Priority Certificate of the home application, including the filing date, filing number and the country where filed, when claiming a convention priority
  • Provisions for Late Filing
  • The Power document may be late-filed together with the payment of a late fee. The due date for late filing, which is determined shortly after filing the application, is one month from the issuance of a Notice to Supplement Power. This due date, however, may be extended. When claiming priority, the Priority Certificate(s) may be submitted within three months from the Korean filing date.
         
  • Drawing Guidelines
  • - A4-sized white paper is preferred, with appropriate margins (approximately 2cm).
    - Drawings or photographs may be in black-and-white or in color, depending on the protection desired.
    - 3-D drawings/photographs are available.
