The Intellectual Property Forum was launched on August 30, 2005, for the promotion of focused and systematic policies aimed at developing human resources for the creation, protection and application of intellectual property and for the establishment of a new government organization. President of the Federation of Korean Industries, Shin-Ho Kang, Former Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Sang-Hee Lee, and Former President of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, Myung-Shin Kim were elected as the three representatives of the Forum. Forty promoters, representing various organizations advocating cultural enhancement, arts as well as science and technology, were present at the election. The Forum plans to initiate a national enlightenment movement and recommend various government policies as a leading nonprofit organization for the intellectual property industry of the 21st century.
