KIPO has not permitted trademark registration for a trademark even if a consent letter from the registrant of the prior-registered trademark is submitted. However, KIPO is trying to revise the Korean Trademark Act to recognize such a consent letter system in order to harmonize with the global trademark practice’s trend.
